2009 MBCNSW Christmas picnic The Pavilion Ku ring gai Chase National Park Bobbin Head Time: 10.30AM to 4PM Cost: Adults $15 per person. Children free. There will also be an entry fee of $11 per car to Kuringai National Park. This is an event at which members of the club, and their families come together in the spirit of Christmas. Sun 8th | The R129 and W126 Birthday Bash + Sydney Harbour Bridge Crossing. Hickson Rd, The Rocks 7.00am. North Ryde RSL Cnr Pittwater Rd and Magdala Rd, North Ryde. To celebrate Mercedes-Benz 50 years in Australia your club has organized for 50 Mercedes-Benz cars to drive across the Harbour Bridge. ALL club members are invited to attend this event and drive across the bridge with all cars to present an amazing sight to Sydney and a memorable event for the club. Meet at Hickson Rd in The Rocks at 7am sharp, we will then drive in convoy across The Harbour Bridge to North Ryde RSL for the birthday show n shine celebration of the R129 and W126. Entry fee $5.00 p/car at both SHB crossing or Show and Shine. SHB motorcade entry fee includes entry to the show and shine.

Joint Club Day with MBCACT The Canberra club has asked us to join them for lunch on Sunday 2nd August, as part of their "Bertha Berlin drive". It is proposed the MBCNSW will drive directly to the restaurant, have a leisurely lunch with our friends from MBCACT, who will then take us on a short scenic tour/drive to surrounding towns such as Gunning and Gunndaroo, from which we can all set sail for home as we please. There are 2 meet points for MBCNSW members travelling to Goulburn: The first meet point: - Northern dwellers are invited to meet "DELILAH" and others at the McDonalds overflow car park, Phyllis Avenue, Thornleigh, @ 8.00am for a 8.30am sharp departure. The carpark is on the western side of Pennant Hills Road, behind Bunnings. We shall then take a leuiserly drive to the south west, via the M2, M7 (tolls apply) and Hume Highway to the second meet point. The second meet point: - Western and southern members should meet at the Mobil service station, southbound, Hume Highway, Pheasants Nest. It is anticipated the northern group should arrive at Pheasants Nest about 9.15am. At 9.30am sharp the combined group will depart for the drive to Goulburn. The lunch venue The Paragon Cafe 174 Auburn St Goulburn. The Paragon Cafe has kindly agreed to reserve 30 seats at tables for the combined MBCNSW and MBCACT group. The seats are reserved contingent that we arrive no later than 11.30am. When all of the 30 reserved seats have been occupied, members will be required to use any available seating which might exist at that time, of which there are usually many. Be warned, Sunday lunch at The Paragon is usually well patronized by others from noon onwards. Bookings for lunch essential.

D-DAY (Detailing Day) - It's a hands on experience!) Auto Salon d'ELlegance 7 Rawson St, Auburn. Time: Noon Cost: $10 per member. Light lunch and refreshments will be served. This is the place to learn all the tricks of the trade and how to present your car at the upcoming Concours on 13/9/09. Join the professionals as they give you the chance to have a "hands on experience" at detailing cars to CONCOURS CONDITION! There will be live demonstrations on vehicles in all types of condition, with information given about how to present your vehicle and how to display the different areas of your vehicle that will gain you points with the judges! This workshop will also be of benefit to owners who may not be thinking about entering Concours, as info will be given about how to preserve your paintwork and interior materials etc.

Technical Day - Back to the future!
M.B. CLASSIC STAR, 69 Claremont Ave, Greenacre. Noon to 2.30pm In the 3 decades leading up to the 90's, a revolution was taking place at Mercedes-Benz, with iconic cars such as the R107 and R129 being produced, come along and find out how they work, there quirks and problem areas, watch live demonstrations of cars on hoists being diagnosed, sift through hundreds of spare parts in this "traditional mechanics workshop" and swap stories with owners of these magnificent motor cars, that were once the cutting edge of the industry!

Easy driver morning run A relaxed Sunday morning drive from Sydney's Middle Harbour to scenic West Head in the Ku-ring-gai Chase National Park via some great winding roads. We'll end up at Bonds Nursery Terrey Hills, where you can enjoy the plants they have on offer, the gift shop and the refreshments available at Mirabelle Cafe. All up, the drive is approximately 70kms, and will be complete by mid-morning.

NRMA Motorfest NRMA Motorfest celebrates Australia's love for the automobile. There are nearly 1,000 veteran, vintage and classic cars, commercial and military vehicles plus motorcycles displayed each year in Sydney on Australia Day (Monday 26 January 2009). It is a great chance to showcase our motoring history to the general public with displays along Macquarie and College Streets, Martin Place and Queen's Square.
