If last Saturday's RR day (at Sam's) was any indication, it will be a great day.

PS:

I spied a certain red convertible getting a special treatment.... Grin

michel I would be guessing just another coat of wax being applied to a allready 'shiny' red convertible?

Tim, the day was outstanding. A very comprehensive insight on how to detail your car, a gourmet selection of food ( a chef was on duty to provide the fare ),and beverages to enjoy.
The big surprise was the appearance of well known singer and recording artist ALFIO, who entertained us with his superb voice. Sam Movisio and his staff looked after us like silkworms. The extra bonus for some was a run in a current model E63, a totally awesome machine. I do not know how Sam expects to better this day next year, as it could not have been better. Thanks Sam....Mike

What a truly amazing event club members and their guests witnessed today!

Today was not only about diagnosing your cars imperfections and the correct methods and steps needed to fix them, it was also about enjoying your car and your passion, enjoying the camaraderie of your fellow club members, enjoying the seemingly endless generous hospitality of surely one of our clubs most dedicated and committed supporters and sponsors, Sam Movizio and learning so much more from so many!

The day started with entrees and refreshments served whilst our ever present President Paul Fail made an introductory speech and presented Sam Movizio with  a Certificate of Appreciation. Sam then educated us on all aspects of car detailing and preparation for Concours, with many Concour judges giving talks on all the different areas that are judged, such as engine bay, boot, interior and underside.

A wheel polisher was on hand to give a demonstration on how alloy wheels can be repaired and a paint sprayer was locked in the paint booth to do his demo too!

Meanwhile in the background, members were being shown how to wash their cars properly and start the cleaning and detailing aspects.

We were then taken to the rear of Sam's premises, where he had a huge screen set up with lights and sound to match! Sam believes we should enjoy the journey we take to prepare and maintain our cars and the soothing opera style music and singing that accompanied the educational section of the finer art of polishing had to be seen to be believed!

Then, stunningly, out of the dark approached a majestic,  glistening white 300d chauffeured by our 2 Vice Presidents, out of the limo came the handsome Alfio, who continued to sing in the same style as presented on the screen, the lucky ladies present were serenaded in style!

Just when everyone thought it couldn't get any better than this, the lights went dim and out of the darkness this time came a sparkling Red 350SL, Alfio serenaded her to the tune of 'Where do I begin (Love Story) whilst 4 lucky guys applied the world's best polish (Zymol) by hand, to her waiting coachwork! The resulting colour and shine was phenomenal!

A thousand thank you's to Sam and his team of wonderful staff for making our day so educational and joyful!

(Pics will follow tomorrow)

Regards

This was without any doubt a show and a half, Sam and the crew have some how managed to raise the bar again, forget the Sydney Motor show this is the event to be at, outstanding doesn't do it justice. If this is any sign of the attendance for the Concours, we are set for a year like no other simply fantastic, well done to all those that made it happen. My cabriolet has never shone so bright as she raced towards the horizon heading home, with sunlight bouncing of every panel!

Cheers Mat.
