Thank you all for your patience, what started out as the Show and Shine for 2009 appears to have spread far and wide, from Sunny Queensland all the way to Melbourne we have fielded enquires from all over the place. So why the long wait, this will be probably the largest drive event the NSW club has hosted in it's proud history and as such it took a team of very dedicated helpers to make it happen and that leaves you the owners of the car with the star. You are no doubt aware that Mercedes-Benz Australia celebrates half a century of sales in Australia this year, which happens to be the R129 SL's 20th birthday and the much admired W126 S-Class's 30th birthday. As such we thought we needed to do something special to kick the S&S off and ladies and gentleman we think we have come up with something a little different. We are going to set a record for the number of Mercedes-Benz's to cross the harbour bridge at the same time. The first 50 cars will be in chronological order and followed by something very special from Mercedes-Benz Australia, who have jumped on board to help us celebrate this milestone in Mercedes-Benz Australia's history. We have just about finalised the first 50 cars to cross so I hear you say where do I fit in? On the next precession of cars of course, if you drive a Mercedes regardless of age or condition this is one event you do not want to miss, come and be part of a piece of Mercedes-Benz Australia history in the making. If you have a unique Mercedes-Benz that may fit Mercedes-Benz Australia's requirements for the first 50 please let us know. There will be photo's and video footage available post the event and of course a marvellous array of Mercedes-Benz automobiles for one to cast an eye over. So come along and share in the birthday cake followed up with lunch and a Show & Shine at the North Ryde RSL. Start time is 0700 Hickson Road, Sydney, near the Overseas Shipping Terminal, you wont miss us, the early start is to avoid traffic problems getting onto the bridge, and to have a rising sun across the bridge for the photo's, this is an event not to be missed. For any further enquires please contact myself at mathew.mb@hotmail.com or mike at mikeflem@optusnet.com.au Cost per car $5.00 See you there Mat We would like to take this opportunity to thank the North Ryde RSL, Shannons and Mercedes-Benz Australia PTY LTD for their support of this event.

Hi Mat, sounds like an epic event. Just out of interest, how were the first 50 cars selected?

As per Mercedes-Benz Australia's request many are concourse winners and of course an age time line across all models. Five minutes after these cars have crossed the rest of the Merc's that role up will cross all will be filmed and photographed and yes we would love to see you there. Cheers Mat

Are all Mercedes-Benz owners, whether Club members or otherwise, welcome to join the later drive across the bridge?

Yes mate Show and Shines are all about expanding the clubs exposure, if you drive a car with the star we want to see you there. The first 50 cars have been chosen as per Mercedes-Benz Australia's request and is just about finalised. Once those 50 get across the bridge all remaining cars will convoy across which will also be photographed how many cars ? As many as turn up see you there. Cheers Mat

Is there going to be a birthday cake? If so, I assume that it will be in the shape of a W126 and not a R129...reason being that you get that much more cake! KB126
