Here is someone in the USA trying to sell 3 of Hitlers cars for $9million dollars. I wonder how he acquired them?

I was watching on SBS 8:35 last night a Documentary which was called As It Happened: Hitler's Bodyguard Hitler's Mercedes Dangerous Car Journeys.

Hitler's Mercedes were unbelievable personally made for him by  Ferdinand Porsche.

Hitler's Grosser Mercedes was a 7.3ltr V8 armour plated.

The doco is on every Friday night at 8:35pm on SBS.

Details of the doco from the SBS website:

8:35 Hitler's Bodyguard

Dangerous Car Journeys - In 1940, Hitler intensified his war efforts, invading France. His preferred mode of travel was by car, and Ferdinand Porsche designed large Mercedes for him with every possible security feature. (From the UK in English) (Documentary Series) (Part 8 of 13) PG CC WS

Cheers Tim.

God I enjoyed that, thanks very much Slim.

In the lower left of this picture is what I think might be one of those G4's they were on about. It was taken in the Classic Centre Collection in Germany.

In fact, just looking at it again, isn't that one of the staff cars on the hoist. The windows sure look thick enough......

No probs Inspector.

I take great interest in World War II History.

When I had Foxtel I used to watch the History Channel which was terrific for doco's about World War I and WWII.

Hitler's Mercedes were armour plated and the windows were also bullet proof would have been essential for Hitler to have such prevention in place for his cars as there were 40 assassination attempts made on Hitler's life.

Just shows you how well made Mercedes back in the 1940's during WWII and the Mercedes designed by Ferdinand Porsche.

Cheers.
