It was a mix of sunshine and rainshowers at this year's Tea Gardens-Hawks Nest Motorfest, but that didn't dampen the enthusiasm of MBCNSW members who put on a display of 20 Mercedes-Benz vehicles jointly with the Mercedes-Benz Classic Car Club of the Hunter Valley. Here are some photos from the day:

Great day out despite the weather being a little iffy at times. Speaking of Iffy it seems my camera lens was dirty as you can see by the pic's which is a shame but these things happen. However for me the highlight of the trip was that Mum's new S280 averaged 8.1 litres per 100km for the trip with aircon on the whole way now that is bloody impressive given the gigantic size of the beast very happy you might say. A chance to catch up with old friends and meet some new ones a great day all round.

Cheers Mat Wink

Just wanted to say that myself, my Mum, Uncle Graham and Bob how we enjoyed the Motorfest today it was excellent!

Rain was on and off but despite that a great day and the cars on show were terrific.

Thank you to Mat Kean for the ride in the S280 "Black Princess" today it was a true honour to be driven in such a wonderful Mercedes!

Anissa you have a truly magnificent Mercedes!

I was told by Christopher and Victoria Mat's Kids who I meet today at the Motorfest that the S280 is 'Mum's Car'.

Also thank you to Darryl Gobert new nickname I thought of today and I hope he does not mind me saying that the new nickname is 'Speedy Gonzalez' ! lol.  Grin thank you for the ride and drive in his 1995 SL500 Mercedes which is one quick machine!

Rest assured Jim I did take photos of the Mercedes at the Motorfest and I will post the photos on the Forum soon.

Missed out on trying one of your Scones Vince maybe next time.

Good to catch up and see Simon Humm I hope the plastic wheel cap is of good use to you Simon? and your E200K was looking immaculate.

Said hello to John and Elsie Skene today at the Motorfest and John your blue W210 E-Class looked terrific.

I was told that there were 40+ car clubs there on Saturday, but the number of cars seemed to be well down on last years event - but with the weather the way it was perhaps the lower attendance was to be expacted. Most of our club members ran into the occasional heavy storm on the way up, which thankfully stayed away while we were up there, but of course the fine sprinkle of rain or light sunshower was enough to have the chamois' out a few times during the day.

There were some great cars on display, including a late arrival of a Facel Vega 500. It was LHD and reputably one of the best anywhere. There was an Edsel parked next to a 1956 Buick, the Edsel was large and in good condition but what else can you say about an Edsel, apart from really horrible styling. I thought that the mid 50's Buick's looked great.
