This tech day will concentrate on the R129 models and the W208/209/210 models.

Any owners of the above models are asked to make a special attempt to attend, so that we may have several examples of the models on hand.

Jimmy's premises are on the right hand side of Elizabeth Street, (589)between Cleveland Street and Redfern Street, proceedings will commence at noon with a BBQ lunch, followed by tech talks and demonstrations etc.

We'll cope, Jimmy can get a few cars in his driveway, the rest of us can disperse in the surrounding streets, double up with a friend on the way in to ease the situation!

Yet another outstanding and informative technical day, it became all the more informative when a member offered up a fault on his car for trouble shooting. The process of elimination took a while but we learnt a lot including the fact, that it appears rats like the taste of MB wiring, the hungry sods had taken a liking to one car generating a brake light warning. Thanks to the crew at Sydney Prestige!

Finally part of the editing team giving me strict instructions on how to find my way home in the dark!

Thanks for those great pics Matt, that will make many forum readers very happy!

Many thanks to Jim Kofinas too, quiet achiever of the Social & Events Committee, who put the whole day together, convinced Jimmy Vlassis it was a good idea and then cooked a great BBQ lunch as well.

Sydney Prestige must be congratulated on providing an excellent Technical Day for our members, the deal was, in at noon, out at 3pm, so they could still do what they had to do as a business, well, they were still helping our members when i left at 4.45pm! The information and history that was revealed by some R129  drivers was astounding and the technical knowledge needed to understand the computer readouts and graphics was well represented by the mechanics at SP.

Thank you to all the members who attended, Joyce Soder and Kumiko also appreciated the hospitality shown by our hosts and we encourage more lady members to attend these events, you'll be surprised what you can learn!

Regards

Great day team learned some interesting info.  Did not realise that the 116 V6 motors ranged from 240 - 350 just the ECU mapping changes the output.  Smart guys in Germany one engine line with just different computers Wink
Thanks Vince, Jim & Jimmy and the boys at Prestige.

Indeed it was a good day. I also learned something about cleaning headlight lenses, so that makes it even better. I heard on the grapevine that Mercules is opening up his own restaurant after the success of his BBQ. Jimmy V, you did your business proud, thanks....Mike
