Conditional Vehicle Registration
The Club runs a Conditional Registration System in conjunction with the Transport Roads & Maritime Services (formerly the RTA) which allows conditional registration for historic vehicles over 30 years old being run within the Club environment.
Registration
The Transport Roads & Maritime Services paperwork requires counter-signing by the Mercedes-Benz Club of NSW. This is to verify current financial membership and the authenticity of the vehicle. Paperwork needs completion and payment to the Transport Roads & Maritime Services by the registration due date. The Club requires that members provide a current authorised Pink Slip for the vehicle. The Pink Slip is only valid for 30 days, so registration must be completed within this timeframe.
Operation
It is a requirement of the Transport Roads & Maritime Services that the Certificate of Approved Operations, issued by them at registration, be carried in the car at all times. Members should also carry information on the Club event as proof of legitimate use to avoid problems with statutory authorities.
Membership
Membership must be current at all times to comply with the Transport Roads & Maritime Services' requirements. If your membership lapses (that is, you become unfinancial), is rescinded or renewal refused, then the car will not be registered for driving on public roads and you will have no compulsory third party insurance.
